Bridges

Dental Bridge

Your teeth are designed to complement each other but when a tooth is missing, stress on the gums and oral tissue can cause potentially harmful outcomes. Gum disease, bone loss and shifting teeth are a few of the risks you can face when you have missing teeth.  With bridges, all of this is minimized greatly.

If you are missing a tooth or several teeth, you might be suffering from problems with speech, chewing and misalignment of other teeth.

A dental bridge is designed to bridge the gap of missing teeth by attaching artificial teeth to the adjacent natural teeth called abutment teeth.

To create the bridge, we place a bridge of crowns that cover the abutment teeth and bridge the gap of the missing tooth.

A fixed bridge is then bonded in place and can only be removed by a dentist.

This treatment plan of a dental bridge can take two to three visits to our dental office. We will provide you with a temporary dental bridge that will look natural until the lab has completed the permanet dental bridge.  All of our dental bridges are made with zirconia for excellent strength and cosmetic aesthetics.

On your first appointment, Dr. Weinberg or Dr. Nguyen will take impressions with our state-of-the-art dental scanner so that our dental lab will be able to make a dental bridge that is custom to your mouth and give you a comfortable, perfect fit.

The doctor will then prepare the surrounding teeth by removing a part of the enamel and dentin.

Our dental lab will then fabricate, very precisely, the dental bridge. This takes about 2 weeks. Once we receive the fabricated bridge from the lab, you will return to our dental office and we will cement the bridge into its premiant place.

A dental clinic will offer various amounts of different materials in constructing dental bridges.  Not all of these materials are created equal.  Some show metal at the gum line and others are not the strongest material available.  And some dentists use dental labs in China.

Our dental bridges are made of the most effective material on the market, Zirconia. We like zirconia because of it is extremely strong and zirconia can be easily matched to the color of existing teeth.

All of our dental crowns and bridges are made right here in Portland Oregon.  We have used the same quality dental lab for years.
